COMMUNITY
OUTREACH
The CORE Institute is committed to providing outreach services to the
community, offering the benefits of caring, nurturing touch. Staff and
students volunteer their time to share the gift of touch with individuals
and groups, such as the elderly, children, sports teams, office workers,
and support groups. Seated massage is offered in standard chairs, wheelchairs,
and portable professional chairs which offer extra support to promote
greater relaxation. The CORE Institute welcomes requests from community
groups who may want to incorporate seated massage into programs such
as health fairs, in service days, retreats, and wellness services.
HOUSING
CORE Institute does not provide housing for its students. However, there
are a number of rental facilities available in the Tallahassee area.
CORE Institute also provides a listing of available facilities that
prefer massage students.
LEGAL
HOLIDAYS
The school will be closed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, and Labor Day. There will be extended breaks for Thanksgiving
and Christmas/New Year's Day, and Summer Break.
TRANSCRIPT
Transcripts will be added to the student's permanent file upon satisfactory
completion of the course. A certified transcript will be sent to the
Florida Board of Massage for the purposes of licensure qualification.
A certified transcript will be sent to the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for the the peupose of taking the national certification exam. Additional

PLACEMENT
ASSISTANCE
While CORE Institute cannot guarantee employment for its graduates,
it does provide employment counseling and a job placement service that
keeps a file of current available job openings. Counseling and job information
are available to any graduate of the school at any time in their career.
TEACHER/STUDENT
RATIO
The CORE Institute strives to maintain the following ratio: for practical
classes, the teacher to student ratio will be one instructor per 12
students, with teacher assistants; for academic classes, the ratio will
be one instructor per 24 students
STUDENT COUNSELING
Member of the CORE Institute staff are available to counsel, assist and advise students upon student request.
STUDENT RECORDS
All student records are permanently on file at the school administrative office. Any student wishing to see his/her personal records may do so at any time during school office hours. Any student wishing a copy of his/her records must notify the school in writing. There is a $1.00 charge for each page copied. All student records are confidential.
STUDENT GRIEVANCE
Any student who may have a grievance toward the school, school staff, or fellow student should first attempt to resolve these problems thourhg the procedures outlined in the Student Manual. SCHOOL HOURS
CORE Institute is open for classes, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The administrative office and bookstore hours are 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
Florida requires a license to practice Massage Therapy. The Florida Board of Masasge Therapy requires all licensure of candidates to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
