Where Medical Errors Occur
Every aspect of the health care system is prone to the occurrence of medical errors. When one thinks of errors being made in the health care system, one tends to automatically assume the errors are made in a hospital. We all have read of the nightmare scenario of wrong body areas receiving surgery, or wrong medications given. But the healthcare system comprises more than just hospitals.4 Healthcare systems include:
