Transfer Credit
Transfer credit is awarded by the CORE Institute according to the rules established by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.
In order for you to receive transfer credit:
- The CORE Institute must be provided with a certified official transcript of the courses taken by the student from a state licensed and approved school.
- The Courses must parallel in content and intensity the courses presently offered at the CORE Institute, as judged by the Institute's Administration.
- Transfer credit is granted only after the transfer credit candidate has been tested by the CORE Institute for competency in the transfer credit subject.
- There is a $25 administrative/testing fee for each subject tested.
- Transfer credit will be granted up to the total number of hours in the tested section.
- Please note that in some cases, after conversion of the transfer credit hours, the transferred hours may not completely fill the CORE Institute requirement. If this is the case, you may still have to attend a certain number of class hours to fulfill the requirement.
Transfer Credit Conversion Information
Transfer credit reported as clock hours will be converted on an hour to hour basis.
Transfer credit reported as Semester/Quarter credit will be converted using the following formula:
One semester credit is equal to fifteen hours of lecture.
One quarter credit is equal to ten hours of lecture.
